Back again.
I am one of the many hooked on World of Warcraft. I thought it might be fun to try to draw a couple of characters from the game.
Here is a preliminary sketch. It looks like this mage has been surprised by an orc.
The mage is probably out of mana. I’m betting on the orc in this fight!

Wonderful line work on this illustration. I’m currently in a figure drawing class and we are doing 1 minute gesture drawings. On my most recent assignment we had to try to incorporate accurate proportions, varied line quality, speed, and accuracy. I felt like I was juggling chainsaws. (My teacher is convinced that all I need is practice, but every other day I have my serious doubts.) I’d be curious to know more about your process and how I can get my sensitivity of line closer to what yours is like. I’ve subscribed to your blog on RSS. Great stuff.

Thanks so much, Game Dame. I am with your teacher on this…practice, practice, practice.
I know it’s easy to get discouraged, but persistence is a big part of the game. Keep your eyes open to absorb all around you. That’s another key to the skill.
Good luck with your drawing, and thanks for subscribing!
