March 19, 2008

I’m just starting  on a twelve-page story for an upcoming Image Pop-Gun anthology.  The story is by Derek McColluch, and involves the misadventures of three criminals. Here’s a preliminary character sketch for one of the criminals–“Chuck”.–P.chuck-preliminary.jpg

Line or Brush? Fooling around….

March 2, 2008

our-gang-line.jpgHere, I’m trying to create some characters with ‘tude. One is done primarily with brush, the other with a deadline of a marker.

Oh, and as always, all artwork on this blog is copyright @2007-2008 Peter G Krause.

Sketch of the Day–3/2/08 “Point Blank”

March 2, 2008

Well, got swamped with work for a bit after coming back to the land of ice and snow. Just like good deeds, you pay for your vacations.

The latest GQ has an article on “guy movies”. I drew from the photo of a still of “Point Blank”, with Lee Marvin. Again, here I’m using a Faber Castell Pitt Pen and the wondrous Pocket Brush Pen.

Sketch of the Day 1/30/08–Doodles

January 30, 2008

It’s always fun to put a few quick sketches down on a piece of paper.

Here’s one such page. The inked drawing is done with the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen.

More comic book pages to come in the next few days.

Captain Marvel over city

January 21, 2008
  • Here’s a commission piece I just completed for a fan.  He wanted a version of the first page of the Power Of Shazam! series in pencil.  I was never really happy with how I did the first page of that series, so here’s a chance to make it better.
  • I generally draw roughs for comic pages the size of the printed comic.  This gives me a better idea of the way the book will look when published.  I did the same here, drawing the rough small, then scanning and printing out a larger version.  I lightbox the larger sketch, tightening up as I go.
  • Here is a small copy.  The original drawing is approximately 10″ x 15″.–P.capmarvel-over-city.jpg

Sketch of the Day 10/19/07—-World of Warcraft

October 19, 2007

Back again.

I am one of the many hooked on World of Warcraft. I thought it might be fun to try to draw a couple of characters from the game.

Here is a preliminary sketch. It looks like this mage has been surprised by an orc.

The mage is probably out of mana. I’m betting on the orc in this fight!
